The Redskins have signed cornerback Cedric Griffin away from the Minnesota Vikings. Griffin is nearly 30 and has been in the league for 6 years. Griffin has had success forcing fumbles and in his best season (pre-injury 2008) he had 4 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles.
Back in 2010, Griffin tore his ACL on each side, first the one, then after that healed he tore the other. However, in 2011, Griffin played in all 16 games for the Vikes so it may not be a concern.
Griffin is a veteran corner that adds a little bit of depth to the secondary but this is another position that the Redskins need to address in the draft. The defensive backfield is really weak and the front line and linebackers have been carrying the defense.
Bring on the Griffins. We have Robert Griffin III and now Cedric. Next up on the Redskins list is Blake Griffin or maybe Undercover Brother Eddie Griffin.
