Oh sh*t...Oh sh*t...Oh sh*t...Oh sh*t...

According to Redskins.com, the Skins are "hoping" to re-sign London Fletcher.  I believe next season will be Fletcher's 75th season in the NFL (Oh, actually it will only be his 15th season).  This should be a no-brainer and after years of overpaying players and this year trading away like 30 years of draft picks (I like to exaggerate) the Skins shouldn't mind giving a player the money he ACTUALLY deserves.

When I come to the club step aside...part the seats don't be hatin' me in the line...MVP cuz you know I gotta shine...I'm Fletchy Fletch and me love you long time...

Typically, I always like to get rid of the older players because they are usually on a declining career path, but Fletcher is different.  Not only did he perform last season, but he had the most tackles of his career, and even led the NFL in tackles.  Plus you have to consider that the other players follow Fletcher's example on the field, and he is a great influence on the younger players on the team.  Not only does Fletcher preach veteran advice, but he goes on the field and plays football at a high level.  You think Kerrigan and Orakpo can't learn from him?

The most interesting thing about Fletcher is that he never makes the Pro-Bowl except when he slips in as an alternate.  The game of football is quite simple.  One side tries to take the ball down the field, and the other side tries to tackle them.  Tackle.  TACKLE.  There are no flags.  There is no 2 hand touch.  It is TACKLE football.  So how can the guy who has the most tackles in the NFL not make the Pro-Bowl?  I'm sure that all 166 of those guys ran right into Fletcher who didn't move...Sure.

How come every time you come around my London London Fletch wanna go down like London London Londi, wanna go down like London London Londi...

This latest article (propaganda) on Redskins.com could be a preliminary move to try to keep the fans calm if Fletcher decides to go to another team.  (Which would probably only happen if the Skins don't pay him the money he deserves)  I'm hoping it is just ancillary reading material and the Skins man up and sign one of the only bright spots on this terrible football team.

Fletchalicious...
