Nats Pitcher Gio Gonzalez' Dog Wearing A Redskins Hat
Posted by

Yep that title is pretty much all I've got for this. Gio often takes pictures of his dog doing human things like reading books, or wearing human clothing. Here is one that the Nats pitcher posted on his Instagram the day after the Redskins game (0-1) for some reason. It is the dog wearing a Redskins hat and modeling one of Gio's billion pairs of shoes. He even used the hashtag HTTR, which could be real or sarcastic.

Shutting Down RG3 Like Strasburg, Hindsight Is 20/20

The biggest story in Washington DC during 2012, only slightly behind the presidential election, was the Stephen Strasburg shutdown decision. Now in 2013 another debate has just sparked up, should the Redskins have followed the Nationals example and shutdown their star in Robert Griffin III.
The Nationals decided to shutdown their ace Stephen Strasburg at the end of last season and he is now 100% healthy and ready for a full workload in 2013. The Redskins didn't shutdown RG3 after he injured his LCL in Week 14 and now he faces a possible long term injury and the Redskins are out of the playoffs.
Clearly the two situations are completely different, but that hasn't stopped people from comparing the two. And EVERYONE is an expert.
Howie long brought this point up on the Fox postgame show: "Washington has 2 of the really dynamic young stars in sports today. Stephen Strasburg with the Nationals, and RG3 in football. The Nationals made the decision to shut Stephen Strasburg down...you have to wonder, and I hope RG3 is good and its just a slight setback, but you have to wonder, should he have been on the field today".
The question that Mike Shanahan had to consider was having Kirk Cousins on the field to face Seattle or the injured RG3. Shanny went with the guy who got them there, RG3.

FP Santangelo, Nationals Announcer, Becoming An RG3 Guy
Posted by
Chris Ford
Right across the bay from the Nationals vs Giants game in Oakland, the Raiders were hosting the Cowboys in a preseason Monday Night Football game. FP Santangelo, the Washington Nationals announcer, said the following about the two teams he clearly hates:
"Boo & Boo for both of those squads" AND
"I'm slowly becoming an RG3 guy, I'll jump on that bandwagon any day of the week"
DC Sports worlds are colliding! There is a lot of sports excitement in DC for the first time in forever and people are getting on the bandwagon of all the teams, even broadcasters ... well ... probably not the Wizards.

Nexus Now Episode 1
Posted by

At the DC Sports Nexus, we created a show to add to our coverage of the DC Sports teams. The show is called Nexus Now and will be a weekly or monthly show with lots of fun stuff. Each time we do it we will try to add new stuff and actually turn on the HD switch on our cameras.
In the first (and possibly only) ever episode, we interview
the famous Nationals Rally Kid, a huge 10 year old Nats fan who is traveling around the
country trying to hit every Major League Stadium. We talk about how he helped the Nats win, and
we talk to his father about the famous Bob Carpenter Scorebook and the secret Carp doesn't want you to know.
I also talk about each of the 4 DC Sports teams, watch some dancing by umpires and Davey Johnson, and my favorite part, "Oh, Hello"! Check it out!
