Why Joshua Morgan Is Not Josh Morgan: His Grandma

This story came out awhile back in San Fran, but today the CBS announcers brought up the fact that Joshua Morgan's grandmother wants people to call him Joshua, not Josh.  From Inside The 49ers interview with Joshy...I mean Joshua.

"My grandmother named me after Joshua in the bible, and she’s way old school. She doesn’t get on planes or nothing, and they don’t play our games on the east coast, so she said when she reads about me, she wants to read what she named me, and she named me Joshua."
So there!  I wonder what grandma's stance is on throwing balls at people when you are mad...

RG3 Fumble Turns Into Josh Morgan Touchdown

Everybody who writes about this play is going to write the same stupid tagline.  "Even when RG3 fumbles, it turns into a great play".  Well that is kind of true, but too easy.

RG3 ran the option, was hit by the Giants, about an inch from the ground he ended up fumbling, batting the ball up in the air, and right into the arms of Joshua Morgan, who scampered into the endzone.  Words don't do it justice, so here is the GIF.

Move Over Griffining, Josh Morganing Is Here!

First there was the huge explosion @Griffining on Twitter...then there was @StopGriffining which has turned into @JoshMorganing.  Griffining was "fun" because it was celebrating a Redskins touchdown and a huge victory.  Well the Redskins had a rough loss to the Rams on Sunday, and some of the blame goes to Josh Morgan who knocked the Skins out of field goal range when he decided to throw a football at a defender after the play was over in anger.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Morganing:

Robert Griffin III Throws His Second Career TD Pass to Aldrick Robinson

Robert Griffin III is in the midst of an amazing NFL debut.  He just hit Aldrick Robinson with a slant across the middle for his 2nd TD pass on the day.  Robinson flipped the ball and went for an old school Tecmo Bowl Super Jump High Five with receiver Josh Morgan.  The GIF:

Michael Vick Plus Peyton Manning Plus Tom Brady Equals RG3 ... Wait What?

That was the message that Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan was selling when he talked to On Tap Magazine.  Here is his exact quote about Robert Griffin III:

“He’s as fast as Michael Vick but he can make all the throws that Peyton Manning can make and he can make all the reads Tom Brady can make”, Morgan said. “He’s got the whole package.”

Morgan has clearly taken (what is it called when you combine the best attributes of different things to create a super-thing?) Frankensteinism to the next level with that comparison.  Perhaps he is fast "like" Vick, makes "a lot" of throws that Manning can make, and "reads the field well" like Brady?

That is most likely what Morgan meant with some of the smaller words in the literal transcription making the statement seem bolder than it actually should be.  Or maybe Morgan actually believes the literal translation of what he said.  Or, for Redskins fans, even better; maybe it IS true!

The article also talked a lot about Josh Morgan, if you care about anything other than RG3, which you probably don't...if you do, read it here.

Redskins May Acquire Josh Morgan, Sadly Not Alex Morgan

I love Alex Morgan.  She is my girlfriend and she doesn't even know it.  I like Katie Morgan in some of her more tasteful roles.  Morgan Freeman is the man.  I even like Nyger Morgan despite the fact that he is nuts.  Captain Morgan is good on occassion as well.  Dexter Morgan is pretty badass, and sometimes after like 10 beers, Deb Morgan doesn't look half bad.  I used to like Adam's Morgan, but that is "so 2008".  Now it appears that there is a new Morgan in my life.  Josh Morgan.

The thought with Morgan is that he has lots of potential at 26 years old, and he won't cost too much money.  Not a typical Redskins type target, but this could be a new-style Skins.  He is described as "big and physical" which could add another endzone target to go along with Fred Davis.

Josh Morgan is a Virginia guy, growing up in the DC area and going to Virginia Tech.  He only played in 5 games last season but at one point he was the (bad) 49ers #1 wide reciever. Morgan broke his leg back in week 5 of the season last year and appears to be fully healed.

It isn't official yet, but looks to be a low-risk high-reward signing to put some weapons around RGIII.
